Anticipation

In an email welcoming me to China, my landlord, Damin, wrote

Hope you can enjoy your everyday in china.

I hope to keep this blog as evidence that I am, indeed, enjoying my everyday in China. I leave tomorrow afternoon and fly to Shanghai with a layover in Tokyo. I'll arrive in Shanghai on Thursday night, and hopefully be posting in the day or two to follow - I'll have to do a little exploration of internet options, but expect them to be plentiful.

I'm pretty well packed, and in good contact with the people I am living with and working for during the next two months. I haven't spoken more than two sentences of Chinese in the two weeks since my class final, but immersion has a way of jogging the memory. So I guess I'm ready!
